Amelia Fitzerald
Horses have been a constant part of my life for as long as I can remember, and over the years that passion has grown into both a career and a lifestyle. My riding background is quite varied, beginning with 10 years of trackwork, which gave me a strong foundation in horsemanship, fitness and understanding horses in a professional environment. Alongside riding, I also hold a teaching degree and am an Equestrian Australia Level 1 accredited coach, combining my love of horses with supporting others in their own riding journeys. Competition has taken me up and down the east coast of Australia, with horses competing from Maryborough in Queensland through to Melbourne in Victoria across eventing, showjumping and dressage. Developing horses — particularly young or homebred ones — is something I find especially rewarding, and much of my time is spent bringing young horses through the levels while also producing them for future performance and breeding. One of the highlights of my riding journey was spending two months training in Germany with the Hannoveraner Verband, where I gained valuable experience working with high quality young horses and learning more about European training systems and breeding programs. At the heart of everything is a genuine love for the horses themselves — whether that’s competing, producing the next generation of Moonlight Lodge horses, or simply enjoying the day-to-day moments that come with life around the horses.
